My approach to therapeutic hypnosis
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention. You remain conscious and in control, and take an active role throughout the session.
What hypnosis really is
Therapeutic hypnosis does not involve sleep or losing control. It can be compared to those moments when your attention becomes deeply focused, such as when you are absorbed in a book, a film or a landscape.
You hear what is being said, and you can speak, move or stop the session at any time. The way we work adapts to your pace and what you are experiencing.
My philosophy
Everyone already has resources that can become harder to access during a difficult period. My role is to help you reconnect with them and explore other ways of responding to what you are going through.
We shape the support together, in a confidential, respectful and safe setting. It is not a substitute for a diagnosis, medical treatment or psychological care.
What happens during a session
-
Before the session
We arrange a first appointment together. There is nothing in particular to prepare: simply bring any questions you may have.
-
The initial conversation
The first session lasts around two hours. We take time to discuss what brings you here, your history and what you would like to change. This conversation helps me understand your situation and plan an approach suited to you.
-
The hypnosis session
We then move on to the hypnosis itself. You remain conscious and actively involved in what is happening. It is a state of focused attention, similar to the one you experience when absorbed in a book or a landscape.
-
Follow-up sessions
Subsequent sessions last one hour or an hour and a half. The number of sessions depends on your situation and your aims. Together, we regularly review how things are going.
