Hypnosis for anxiety and stress

Stress is part of life. It becomes a problem when it no longer subsides, settles in the body and eventually occupies your thoughts constantly.

What you may be experiencing

  • Physical tension that does not ease: a tight neck or jaw, or shallow breathing.
  • Thoughts that go round in circles, especially in the evening.
  • Tiredness that is not relieved by sleep.
  • A sense that you are constantly anticipating what could go wrong.

How hypnosis may help

Hypnosis allows you to enter a state of deep relaxation and develop responses other than the automatic ones established by stress. Over the course of the sessions, we work to ease these reactions and reconnect with resources that tension had made harder to access.

How sessions work

The number of sessions depends on how long you have been experiencing these difficulties and their intensity. We discuss this together from the initial consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Does hypnosis replace medical or psychological care?

No. Therapeutic hypnosis is a complementary form of support. It is not a substitute for a diagnosis, medical treatment or ongoing psychological care.

Is the number of sessions decided in advance?

No. It depends on your situation, how long you have been experiencing it and your aims. We review this together as the support progresses.

Do I need to know exactly what triggers my anxiety?

No. We can start with what you notice today: physical sensations, thoughts, situations or particular moments. The initial consultation helps clarify what you would like to work on.

Can we work on the physical responses to stress?

Tension, shallow breathing or restlessness can form part of the support. Hypnosis may help you explore other responses and find greater calm, alongside medical care when this is needed.
